Andaman : The Beach Haven

Andaman is blessed with the best of nature in the form of virgin beaches bordering the turquoise sea. These islands are the proof of God’s vivid imagination. Islands of Andaman & Nicobar are located in the east of the Indian mainland geographically.

I arrived at the Port Blair Airport late in the afternoon to a warm welcome by our tour guide!

The first stop was the Cellular Jail. It was a colonial prison used by the British especially to exile political prisoners to the remote archipelago. Today it serves as a National Memorial Monument. Next and the last stop for the day was Corbyn’s Cove Beach, one of the most popular and most crowded beach in the city. Best place to relax!

Next day, went on a boat ride to Ross Island. This island will make you nostalgic and takes you back in time when this was a managerial settlement for the Britishers. There are a lot of historical ruins in this island like Church, Hospital, Bakery, Press, Swimming Pool, Ballroom, CM’house etc.

It’s a great place for sightseeing, interacting with the deer’s and watching peacocks and ducks.

Next stop was North Bay Island. This island offers so much to us individuals with its beautiful coral reefs. There are various water activities conducted here. One of my favorite was Scuba Diving! Other activities were Boat rides, Snorkeling, Sea Walk and the Coral watching! A must visit island!

Havelock is a perfect heaven with lovely white Sandy shorelines, rich coral reefs and lavish green jungles. It is famous for Scuba, Snorkeling, Swimming.

Reached the island after a long ride.

First stop was Kalapathar beach, a long stretch of white silky sand with big black rocks.

Next beach was the famous Radhanagar Beach. It is the No. 7 under the most beautiful beaches in Asia. The turquoise blue sea and white sand make this beach a perfect spot to bask in the midst of nature’s bounty.

Next island was Neil Island. It is a tiny island located Fo the south of Andaman.

Bharatpur beach is famous for its turquoise blue sea and it’s water sports activities. One can spend a whole day in this beach. Next up was the beautiful Natural Coral Bridge also known as the Howrah Bridge. The Bridge is made up of natural dead corals. It’s a beautiful view from up there!
